Case (PO401) Information

The PO401 Element is the number of inner containers, or number of eaches if there are no inner containers, per outer container. If inner containers are being used, the PO414 Element would be used in addition to the PO401 Element.

For Example: When the PO401 segment is sent by itself, the value represents the number of units in the carton, e.g. A carton contains contains 10 each of an item. The PO401 segment would then appear as: PO4**10. If a carton contains inner cartons the PO401 would then represent the number of inner cartons, and PO414 would represent the number of units or eaches per inner carton, e.g. If a carton contain 5 inner cartons and each inners carton contained two units (or eaches), the PO4 Segment would appear as follows: P04**5*************2.

Inner (PO402/PO414) Information

The following elements relates to the method of capturing the quantity of inner packages within a single package.

Select from the following whether or not the PO401 element is to be included in the PO401 segment and if it is to be included, select the element to define the Unit of Measure for the inner packages.

Note: "Alternate" and "Other" units of measures are used the system will pick up the conversion factor for the Alternate or Other Units of Measure. For example, an item is stocked in each and sold by the case. The case contains 12 each. The conversion factor would be 12.
